Remove rust stains from paving and stone

Rust stains (from a pot, garden furniture or iron-rich water) grab onto the pore of the stone and do not come off with water alone. We use the right product to dissolve the rust without attacking the limestone underneath.

Why it is not worth putting off

Rust penetrates the pore, the longer it is left, the deeper it goes. And the "home remedy" (acid) stains the surrounding stone permanently.

How we do it

  • A specific anti-rust product, suited to the type of stone
  • Localised application + dwell time
  • Rinsing at controlled pressure
  • A prior test on a discreet spot

Mistakes we see (and avoid)

  • Home-made acid/bleach, stains the surrounding stone
  • Scrubbing dry, spreads the stain
  • High pressure with no product, wears the stone and does not remove the rust

Frequently asked questions

Does all the rust come out?
In most cases, yes. Very old, deep stains may lighten without disappearing 100%, we assess first.
Does it ruin the surrounding stone?
No, with a suitable, localised product. That is why we do not use generic acid.
Does it work for paving and marble?
Yes, adjusting the product, marble gets a gentle formulation.
