Washing of natural stone (granite, schist, marble)

Each stone reacts differently. Marble and limestone do not tolerate acids (they stain and corrode); granite is more resistant. We choose the product and pressure for each type, clean, without ruining the stone.

Why it is not worth putting off

Porous stone grabs moss and pollution, and the wrong product leaves permanent stains. Treating it well preserves the look and the value of the stone.

How we do it

  • We identify the type of stone → the right product
  • Neutral pH on marble and limestone (never acid)
  • Pressure tuned to the hardness of the stone
  • Always a test on a discreet spot before proceeding

Mistakes we see (and avoid)

  • Acid on marble/limestone, stains and corrodes (irreversible)
  • High pressure on soft stone, pits the surface
  • A generic product with no prior test

Frequently asked questions

Can you wash marble?
Yes, with neutral pH and gentle pressure, never acid, which marble does not tolerate.
Does it get stained?
No, if the product is the right one, which is why we always test on a discreet spot first.
Does granite take more pressure?
Yes, it is harder. Even so we adjust to the state of each piece.
